05-04-98 { Quiet Week, A few new releases, Release dates update, and Misc console news... }

Hey there!

Sorry I'm a day late with the newsletter, but I just didn't have the time to sit down and write a proper update. In any event, this past week has been very slow. No new news of any sort has appeared, nor have any new games been released (Actually Shining Force III:2 was, but I already talked about that last week.) New games out this week include the sim Roommate III by Datam. Finally, House of the Dead will be making a US appearance. The game should be available tomorrow (5/5), if not, then on Wednesday 5/7. HotD is a 'limited' run in the US so if you want it, it may be a good idea to reserve a copy now. Assuming there are no last minute delays, Panzer Dragoon Saga should also be shipping this week in the US this week.

On the site, I've made some minor updates to the release dates list, primarily for Europe. I'd hoped that new news would come today, but none has. The Computer Game Developers Conference has begun today, and VideoLogic/Sega will be showing some of their wares trying to attract potential developers. With these displays, some more information on the systems should be revealed. Other than that, it will probably be a long wait until May 21st before we get the details on Sega's next console. Relating to the next console, two appointments have been made at Sega UK: Naohika Hoshina and Mark Maslowicz have been named director of product development + third party licensing, and licensing & acquisitions manager.

That's all I have to say for now. Things may slow down some more at dEX in the next few weeks as I have finals and term projects coming up. I'll do my best to keep things updated. Cya!
